Today was really chilled out. We met our new Sound & Music Lecturer, Mr. Faizal. He's a great guy, really hilarious and he made the entire class feel real comfortable. He related to us on how he felt when he was a student, he even told us to give him a call if we were going out for beers. Now that's my kind of lecturer. I could tell his style of teaching Music was very practical and he said he would give us feedback as if we were working in the Industry. He made a lot of jokes to help us open up and explained what he would teach and how he would teach us. I really liked the fact that he doesn't do exams or quizzes in his module, however we have to do three assignments. Though I don't mind assignments, I prefer them to exams.
Talking about exams, I had to do my English placement test today. Either I stay stuck in Basic English for music for the rest of the course or I do the English Two which is writing reviews on songs, artists etc. I hope I didn't rush the test, 'cause it'll be embarssing to have failed. I have to get 80% to pass, eeee.
I went to Kai's house today with Kai, Mervyn and Kiki. He lives in IOI resort, which is an amazing place. We had dinner and we chilled at his apartment for a while and Kai showed us some of his band's tunes. I really like his band's stuff, really unique and very very catchy. I showed him some of the bands from Brunei, he really liked the Bruneian style and direction. I felt really proud because his band was signed by Universal Records in France so it meant a lot coming from him. He's an amazing guitar player, a real chilled out sophisticated guy. I can't wait to get the band started with him. Oh, talking about the band, I was asked by a guy we call "Major" in my class, who's a military band manager. He wanted to organize gigs for us and get us paid. All we have to do is get six songs down and hand it to him. I'm really excited, really excited!
Tomorrow, we start using ProTools. I can't wait, i'm literally shitting my pants!
